The Postgraduate Diploma in Music Therapy

The Music Therapy Trust in New Delhi is the first Postgraduate Diploma training in Music Therapy in India. Music therapy is a creative and flexible medium through which clinical goals can be achieved. Clients may present a range of impairments or behaviours and can benefit people of all ages.

How does the Music Therapy Work ?

Therapists are closely involved in the overall development of each of their clients, helping them to achieve their full potential. This can include improving communication and relationship skills, helping them express their feelings positively and creatively.

During each session clients are encouraged to use their voices and to experiment with a range of percussion and melodic intruments to create satisfying and expressive sounds. This is an opportunity to explore the world of sound and develop a personal musical language, to which the trained therapist can respond effectively. Sessions can also include the use of songs, musical games or verbal reflection on the music created.
